Herniated Disc Relief

Herniated or bulging discs can be a very touchy subject for a lot of my chiropractic patients. Many people instantly think spinal surgery when they here herniated disc. This is just not the case as these problems can be fixed fairly easily through non-invasive chiropractic treatments.

Most bulging or herniated discs occur in the first place due to misalignments of the spine. When a vertebra becomes misaligned it puts pressure on the disc. A disc is the soft (jelly-like) substance that separates each vertebra in your spine. When too much pressure is forced upon the disc, then it starts to squeeze or bulge outward. This can cause enormous amounts of pain or even pinch the associated nerve.

Common symptoms associated with a herniated disc can include back pain, cannot bend or twist, cannot dress yourself, shooting or burning pain down your leg or arm, and loss of all range of motion. All of these symptoms are very detrimental to your daily activities and most people go running off to their surgeon.

You see, your chiropractor will find out which specific vertebrae are pinching down on your disc and gently adjust those vertebras to relieve pressure off the disc and start the healing process.
